We named it in honor of the Warsaw Mermaid — the guardian of the city.
For several years, Syrenka has been collecting the faces, stories, and memories of the people who come to our studio.
Through its lens pass important moments of human life: a child's first tooth, starting a family, parents' arrival, birthdays, partings, years of emigration, and new beginnings.
Everything changes.
And Syrenka still preserves the light and the memory of those who have stood before its lens at least once.

ABOUT US
We are KANAPLEV+LEIDIK — a photographic and artistic duo working in Warsaw.
We create portraits, documentary projects, and fine art photography. We are interested in people, their stories, and the traces that time, memory, and experience leave behind.
We work both for cultural institutions and brands, as well as for individuals who want to capture an important moment of their lives in the form of an image.
STORY
One day in Old Warsaw, we found a place that was waiting for us.
Here, nothing happens quickly. A person walks in, takes off their coat, listens to the silence.
Then tea or coffee, conversation, pauses. Only then, the camera.
The Mermaid looks slowly, as if remembering a person.
People come for a portrait, and leave feeling they have met themselves more deeply.
And that stays within the walls of the old studio.

Price: 150 euro
Package I. Studio session (Warsaw) An individual or family portrait in our historic studio in the Old Town. Silence, the warmth of the fireplace, and a leisurely immersion in the process.
Outdoor session (Warsaw) We will bring the magic of camera obscura to your space, home, or chosen location in Warsaw. •
Minimum session time: 1 hour (each additional hour costs an extra 100 euro).
Package III

On-location session in Europe Kamera obscura travels without borders. We are ready to come to you, to any city in Europe, to preserve your most important moments.

Package IV. Masterclass (Workshop) Deep immersion in the process of working with the camera obscura. • Duration: 3 hours. • Format: up to 7 people. • Location: our studio in Warsaw (the possibility of organizing off-site workshops is available).
